Phase-based measurement systems have applications in physics, engineering, medicine, biometry, and many others. Thus, algorithms for phase demodulation become a staple requirement of considerable importance.
  Why is it important? 
In this paper, a set of algorithms for phase evaluation, applicable to automatic applications, is presented. This article includes fringe-pattern normalization, Fourier fringe-normalized analysis, generalized phase-shifting, and phase-unwrapping.
